2005 gmc sierra 1500 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Denali luxury now with crew cab room. introductionthe gmc sierra is nearly identical to the chevy silverado but features more mature, restrained styling. With their 5-foot, 8-inch cargo box, sierra crew cabs are no longer than standard-bed, extended-cab models for easier parking and maneuverability. The 1500hd crew cab, which returns for 2005 after a one-year hiatus, can tow up to 10,200 pounds. Even the plush denali tows 8,100 pounds.  yet all sierras deliver a smooth, comfortable ride among the full-size pickups. Even compared to more recently introduced or re-engineered pickups from ford, dodge, and nissan, the sierra rides and handles very well. Although nominally classified as light duty or 'half-ton' trucks, the 1500s offer payloads ranging from 1,215 to 2,040 pounds, and tow ratings from 4,100 up to 9,000 pounds, depending on equipment. That's all the truck most consumers will ever need.  engine choices include a 4. 3-liter v6, 4. 8-liter v8, and 5. 3-liter v8. Available only as a crew cab with a 6-foot-6-inch bed (instead of the standard 1500 crew cab's 5-foot-8-inch bed), the 1500hd hauls 3,073 pounds with 2wd, 2,766 pounds with 4wd, and tows 10,200 pounds. Power is provided by the same 6. 0-liter v8 that's used in the 2500hd/3500; but the 1500hd should ride more smoothly than the heavy-duty trucks.  base models come with abs, air conditioning, cruise control, am/fm/cd audio, an attractive chrome grille molding, a chrome rear step bumper, and 17-inch chromed steel wheels. Carpeting and cloth seats are also standard. Regular and extended cabs are available, but not the crew cab, base prices range from $21,045 to $31,270.  the w/t (work truck) model deletes the cd player, chrome, cruise control and carpeting. These plane-jane trucks are aimed at commercial and municipal fleets, with prices ranging from $18,770 to $29,540.  sle trim adds fog lamps; power windows, mirrors, and door locks; a leather-wrapped steering wheel; overhead console; and other amenities. Leather upholstery is optional. The 4. 8-liter v8 and automatic transmission are standard on regular and extended cabs; crew cabs come with the 5. 3 and automatic. Prices range from $25,755 to $34,140.  slt trim, available on extended cabs and crew cabs, adds automatic dual-zone air conditioning, leather upholstery, power-adjustable bucket seats with heat and memory, floor console, heated outside mirrors, new gen6 onstar telecommunications and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The 5. 3-liter v8 is standard, with a higher-performing, all-aluminum 5. 3 in 4wd extended cabs. Denali comes with tone-on-tone leather, extra sound deadening, a bose audio system with separate controls for rear-seat passengers, and other exclusive amenities. It's equipped with steering wheel controls for the audio system, gen6 onstar, trip computer, and other programmable functions. Quadrasteer reduces sierra's curb-to-curb turning diameter by 26 percent and enhances high-speed stability. It comes packaged 1,995) with a limited-slip differential, heavy-duty brakes and clearance lights. walkaroundthe front styling of the gmc sierra ties it closely to the mid-size gmc envoy, and to some of the great gmc pickups of the past. The chrome-framed grille consists of three black horizontal bars that prominently display a big red gmc emblem. Chromed front bumpers include two airflow cutouts. Up-level models have a body-colored lower front fascia; base models have a light-charcoal fascia. An optional grille/brush guard adds front-end protection. A single onstar roof antenna combines the gps and cell-phone functions.  compared with the chevrolet silverado, gmc's styling is more conservative, more mature, with smoother, more sophisticated lines. Its chromed mesh grille looks like something from a hot-rod shop. Projector-beam headlamps and unique front fascia and fog lamps add up-market distinction, along with body color on the door handles, side moldings, tailgate handle, outside mirrors, rear bumper and tonneau cover. Chrome running boards with integral mud guards further distinguish the denali from other sierras.  for 2005, nearly all sierras come with 17-inch wheels: painted steel on work trucks, chromed steel on base and sle, aluminum on slt and polished aluminum on denali. The only exceptions are the 1500hd and the hybrid, which make do with 16-inch rims. Denali models are available with 20-inch wheels for a stronger styling statement.  the load height (the distance from the ground to the bed) for 2wd sierra models is just 31. 6 inches. For 4wd models, it's 33. 7 inches. The frame rails are hydroformed, a process that uses high-pressure hydraulics to shape relatively large steel components. Tubular crossmembers and roll-formed mid-rails increase rigidity further. This stiff structure enhances handling and ride quality immensely, while improving crashworthiness. interiorthe gmc sierra cab remains among the roomiest in the industry, with large door openings to aid entry and exit. The seats are big and cushy. Other pickup owners find the gm seats more to their liking. Also, the interior door handles are ropey and awkward.  the instrument cluster features highly legible gauges with white backlighting and orange pointers. The denali's gauges are unique and feature blue backlighting and white pointers. A driver information center reports on as many as 27 vehicle functions with an easy-to-read, single-line lcd display. A compass is incorporated into the overhead console, along with three storage areas for sunglasses, garage door opener, and small items.  audio and climate controls are sophisticated, yet easy to operate. The system comes with am, fm1, fm2, xm1, and xm2 bands. Steering wheel-mounted audio controls (on slt and denali) make it easy to switch among station presets and modes. Onstar is the leading provider of in-vehicle safety, security and information services in the uni. 2011 subaru legacy review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. A sold, distinctive choice for those who shun the commonplace. introductionthe 2011 subaru legacy sedan is an alternative to mainstream sedans. The legacy was completely redesigned for 2010, so only minor changes make their way to the lineup for 2011.  the 2011 legacy 2. 5gt limited gets a sunroof, upgraded trim and satellite radio. The premium harman-kardon stereo system includes satellite radio on 2011 subaru legacy models.  all-wheel drive makes the legacy an excellent choice for anyone who has to contend with weather. The body has pronounced fender flares and a grille with a bold chrome trademark wing. The 2. 5 gt limited trim level features a hood scoop that is both functional and adds to the sporty appearance.  we found the subaru legacy wonderfully comfortable, with high-quality interior trim. We particularly liked the perforated leather on the limited models. These aren't luxury cars, but they are premium cars in terms of the quality of materials and the engineering that goes into them.  we found the base subaru legacy 2. 5i effortless to drive. The transmission works automatically, with nothing to do but put it in drive and go; the optional cvt gets good fuel economy. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, 60/40 split rear seat with armrest, steering wheel with audio and cruise control buttons, stereo with cd player and input jacks, remote entry, and power windows, locks and mirrors. Standard features include a hood scoop fog lights, a sunroof, the all-weather package, satellite radio and unique interior trim.  safety equipment on all 2011 subaru legacy models includes front and front side airbags with side curtain airbags, abs with brake assist, vehicle dynamics control with traction control, and tire pressure monitor. walkaroundthe subaru legacy profile is sleek and the roofline is coupe-like. In front, subaru's badge of stars is ringed by a chrome grille. Character lines arc from the grille and form power bulges on the hood and taper upward to the a-pillar.  aggressive wheel arches and edged flares are enhanced by handsome alloy wheels.  there's a short rear deck with squared-off rear valances (smooth and not boxy), part of the standard aero package, giving an impression of size. Along with the 18-inch wheels with wide-profile tires and twin-tip exhaust, it's clear that the gt means business.  the legacy's rigid chassis uses a fully reinforced cage of high-strength steel. Fluid engine mounts help reduce noise. interiorwe found the front bucket seats wonderfully comfortable. Gas strut supports, no intrusion into trunk space: quality detail, for such an affordable midsize car. The rear doors allow for easy entry and exit.  interior materials are high quality all around. The controls on the center stack are all well done. The three-spoke steering wheel isn't as handsome as the rest of the interior, although the optional leather wrap is nice. The ambient lighting for the console is pleasant. Visibility in all directions is good. driving impressionwe tested both transmissions in the base subaru legacy 2. 5i. We like the legacy 2. 5i with the optional continuously variable transmission (cvt). This transmission makes driving effortless and gets 4 more miles per gallon than the 6-speed manual gearbox. The cvt comes with paddle shifters on the steering wheel allowing the driver to shift into different ratios. Called lineartronic, and driven by a chain (actually more of a metal belt) for durability, this compact cvt is subaru's first cvt in recent years, but the company was an early leader in the technology, making cvts some 20 years ago.  all three models have subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive, but they are different systems. The 265-hp turbocharged engine, with its large turbocharger that sits lowe and near to the exhaust, is capable of pulling 258 pound-feet of torque, available from 2000 to 5000 rpm. The 2011 subaru legacy 2. 5gt pulls off a 0-to-60 acceleration time of 5. 9 seconds, much better than the 3. 6r's pokey 7. 1 seconds.  the chassis features a front subframe with a cradle that allows the engine to sit relatively low. But as we mentioned before, it's not going beat the competition in a drag race. summaryin engineering terms, the subaru legacy comes out ahead of the its chief competitors, including camry, accord, mazda6, altima, and passat. The legacy 2. 5gt is an all-out sports sedan, and the legacy 3. 6r is a midsize luxury car. Each model has class-leading virtues. model lineupsubaru legacy 2. 5i 19,995), 2. 5i premium 20,995), 2. 5i limited 25,295), 2. 5gt limited 31,395), 3. 6r 24,995), 3. 6r premium 25,995), 3. 6r limited 28,295). assembled inindiana. model testedsubaru legacy 2. 5i l. 2013 volkswagen beetle review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Convertible joins sleek, new lineup. introductionthe volkswagen beetle was completely redesigned for 2012. For 2013, beetle convertible joins the lineup.  as with the coupe, the 2013 beetle convertible is longer, lower and wider than the new beetle, which is what we called the old one that was phased out after the 2010 model year. It feels like a capsule inside than it did before.  front legroom is plentiful, but the beetle coupe's rear seat has just 31. 4 inches of legroom, which is 1. 9 inches less than the subcompact toyota yaris, on a wheelbase that's 1. 1 inches longer. Still, two adult passengers will fit back there; they just sit rather upright.  the rear hatch area of the beetle coupe is spacious at 15. 4 cubic feet. With the rear seat folded, the coupe has nearly 30 cubic feet of cargo space, and the high-swinging hatchback enables giant things to fit inside, making the coupe handy for hauling. The beetle convertible has a trunk with only 7. 1 cubic feet of space.  the beetle seats and trim are neat but not fancy. The bucket seats are simple and comfortable, with excellent bolstering.  instrumentation is so clean it's memorable for its rarity. In the center of the big clear speedometer there's a multi-function digital display, accessed with a flick of the driver's right thumb, scrolling a small wheel on the steering wheel. It makes for safe driving.  the 2. 5-liter inline five-cylinder engine, with an iron block and dual overhead cams, carries on, delivering 170 horsepower. Torque is 177 pound-feet at 4250 rpm. Acceleration with the 2. 5-liter engine is adequate, and 75 mph on the freeway is smooth and mostly effortless.  a 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, with a 6-speed automatic transmission optional. The automatic did not wow us. The automatic has manual shift capability, but it's done with side-to-side movements using the lever. It's better than nothing, but it's not racy. The manual gearbox is satisfying and gives the car pep when accelerating. We recommend the manual.  a 2. 0-liter turbo model is also available that comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automated manual that vw calls a dsg for direct shift gearbox. The turbo also has sportier suspension tuning. The 2. 0-liter turbocharged engine makes 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque at a low 1700 rpm, and it gets about the same fuel mileage as the 2. 5-liter engine although on more expensive premium gasoline. It's hot, with acceleration not far behind a mini cooper s.  also available is the tdi turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine, which delivers jaw-dropping torque and fuel mileage on the far side of 40 mpg. The 2. 0-liter turbodiesel delivers 236 pound-feet of torque. The tdi engine has been used successfully for some time in the golf and jetta models and is well-proven. It's clean and runs quietly.  coupe or convertible, the beetle chassis is rigid and the body solid, with subframes front and rear, supporting the suspensions. Vw did a lot of work to make the convertible impressively rigid.  the base coupe uses a torsion beam rear suspension, but the beetle turbo and all convertibles use a more sophisticated multi-link, for a higher threshold of cornering. The freeway ride in the base coupe doesn't suffer for the torsion beam. It's comfortable and consistent. Potholes don't hurt, but rough pavement can make the rear end of the coupe want to dance. The other models are more composed over rough pavement. lineupthe 2013 beetle model lineup includes 2. 5l, turbo and tdi models in coupe and convertible body styles with additional models defined by extra equipment. Special edition 1950s, '60s and '70s models are also available in the convertible lineup. The base engine is a 170-horsepower 2. 5-liter 5-cylinder. Turbos get a 200-horsepower 2. 0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. Tdis are powered by a 2. 0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that makes 140 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque.  the beetle 2. 5l coupe 19,795) comes with v-tex leatherette (vinyl) upholstery, air conditioning, tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, height-adjustable front seats with driver's side lumbar adjustment, heated front seats, split folding rear seat, heated power mirrors, power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, am/fm/cd/mp3 player, auxiliary input jack, ipod interface, bluetooth cell phone link, theft-deterrent system, and p215/55hr17 tires on alloy wheels. The beetle 2. 5l convertible 24,995) adds an interior air filter, satellite radio, trip computer, outside-temperature indicator, rear spoiler, and a power convertible top.  the beetle coupe is offered with three additional 2. 5l models. They start with the 2. 5l sunroof 22,295), which adds a sunroof, a center console, keyless access and starting, satellite radio, and steering wheel audio controls. The 2. 5l fender edition 24,440) gets the sunroof equipment, plus a fender sound system, bi-xenon headlights, and p235/45r18 tires. The '50s edition 26,095) comes with tan leather upholstery, a center console, black paint, and unique alloy wheels inspired by steel wheels from the 1950s. The 2. 5l technology model 26,695) adds a center console, keyless access and starting, satellite and hd radio, and steering wheel audio controls. The 2. 5l sound/navigation 28,495) gets that equipment, plus a navigation system, the fender sound system and p235/45r18 tires. The '70s edition model 28,595) comes with the sound/navigation equipment, plus toffee brown paint, tan upholstery, and chrome disc-style wheels.  the turbo coupe 23,395) and convertible 27,795) add to the 2. 5l model fog lights, sport-tuned suspension, and p235/45hr18 tires. The coupe also gets cloth upholstery, a center console, and a rear spoiler. The turbo coupe is offered in sunroof/sound, fender edition and sunroof/sound/navigation models that mirror the equipment on similar 2. 5l models. The turbo convertible also gets a '60s edition model 32,395) with the navigation system, leather upholstery, 6-speed automated-manual transmission, center console, keyless access and starting, fender sound system, satellite and hd radio, and steering-wheel audio controls.  the tdi coupe 23,295) and convertible 27,895) add to the 2. 5l steering-wheel audio controls, center console, keyless access and starting, and satellite radio. The convertible also gets hd radio. Like the other models, the tdi is offered with additional equipment. The coupe comes as the tdi sunroof and tdi sunroof/sound/navigation models, while the convertible adds only the tdi sound/navigation model.  safety equipment on the coupe includes dual front airbags, front side airbags, antilock disc brakes, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, a tire-pressure monitor, and volkswagen's advanced intelligent crash response system that shuts off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors, and switches on the hazard lights under some crash situations. The convertible also adds automatic pop-up roll bars. It's not quite as cute and feminine, but it is just as identifiable as it's ever been. The coupe's coefficient of drag is 0. 37, a good number that still lags behind some competitors, and reveals the legacy of a round bug. The beetle convertible comes in at a close 0. 38 cd. The 2012 honda civic, by comparison, slips in under 0. 32. (a lower number is better.)  looking head-on at the beetle, it's wide and chubby enough that the lines are actually horizontal. A narrow black mouth under the bumper spans the face like a pinched grin, under perky headlamps like eyes, and a hood seam that seems to define a wide nose, having one chrome nostril with vw in it.  at profile, the good-looking roofline is like a stylish tight arc, reminiscent of the 2005 concept car called the ragster, which had the look of a chopped-top hot rod.  the wheel cutouts are perfect semi-circles dropping down toward the pavement. In contrast to the smooth curves of sheet metal everywhere else, the fender flares have squared edges, offering contrasting definition to the shape.  the beetle coupe might be called a hatchback. The rear gate is massive. Vw had to make no compromises to the car's shape for the utility of cargo loading. When the hatch is closed, it flows invisibly into the car's roundness.  the convertible, on the other hand, has a trunk that sits below the hold for the convertible soft top. The top opens in just 9. 5 seconds and closing in 11 at speeds up to 31 mph. It's like the old bug, in a welcome way.  volkswagen does gauges well, and the beetle's are super clean. There's a big speedometer in the center, insanely optimistic at 160 mph, with organic white numbers and red needles. A small tach sits to the left of the speedo, balanced on the right by a big analog fuel gauge. The tdi has an additional instrument pod with oil temperature and turbo boost gauges, plus a.

2009 acura tsx review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. All-new sport-luxury sedan. introductionwith the 2009 tsx, acura has done a full remake of its entry-luxury level sedan. More than just bolting a slick new body on an old platform, the tsx is new from the ground up, as in, longer, wider and lower. In a couple measures, it's roomier, too.  technology is what sets the new tsx apart. Acura's superb navigation system comes standard and can be operated using voice-recognition. The standard navigation system is the equal of anything in the class, while an optional system displays real-time traffic with congestion re-routing and local and national weather. The top-line audio system sets a standard for the class, too, with superbly crisp surround sound. It comes with one engine, a 2. 4-liter inline-4, and a choice of transmissions, a six-speed manual and a five-speed sportshift sequential automatic. Although horsepower is off slightly, torque is increased by enough to make up any difference in sheer acceleration. Just as important, fuel economy is unchanged with the manual and improved with the automatic. The tsx stays with a front-wheel-drive configuration, whereas true sporty sedans are rear-wheel drive. That said, the tsx is one of the better-handling front-wheel-drive sedans and in its class, hard to beat as an everyday driver that can still be fun on a mountain road.  styling stays true to acura themes for 2009, but cleans up here and there to give the car a more aggressive, more buff look and to emphasize its more planted stance. The wider part, where it adds a couple inches between the wheels side to side, translates directly into a sportier driving feel.  everything inside that matters is powered, including the adjustments on both front seats. Dual-zone climate control and heated seats and outside mirrors are standard. The navigation system adds a rearview camera, acuralink real-time traffic (in 76 major metropolitan markets) with dynamic re-routing, acuralink weather and acuralink satellite communication system.  acura-approved, interior and exterior accessories are available from dealers. For inside, the list includes dark metallic and titian silver interior trim kits, trunk tray, trunk hooks, cargo organizer, and cargo net. Among those for the outside are 18-inch, 10-spoke, chrome-look or ebony-finish alloy wheels to replace the stock 17-inch aluminum alloys; backup sensor; wheel locks; sport bumper kit; rear bumper applique; deck lid spoiler or wing spoiler; moonroof visor; car cover; and nose mask.  safety features include a full complement of airbags to protect occupants front and rear in frontal and side impact crashes. Rear outboard seats provide anchors (latch) for child safety seats. Antilock brakes let the driver steer the car during emergency stops, brake assist boosts initial brake pressure in panic stops and electronic brake-force distribution apportions brake application between front and rear to optimize stopping distance. Electronic stability assist, coupled with traction control, adjusts brake and throttle to keep the car going where it's supposed to go through evasive or avoidance maneuvers or when road conditions deteriorate. The '09 tsx is no exception to that rule. Although it stretches the mold a bit, as it should, there's still no mistaking it for anything but one of honda's luxury line.  the front end nicely blends elements from acura's other two sedans, the sporty tl and the more serious rl, and from the mdx sport utility. The headlight housings, for instance, with their squinty lenses curling around the front fenders to reach deep into the arcs of the front wheelwells, look like a direct lift from the tl. The elongated, pentagonal chrome bar topping the similarly outlined grille pulls from both the mdx grille and the single bar slicing across the grille on the current tsx. The gaping lower air intake is a new design cue and shaves visual mass from what might otherwise be an overpowering front bumper while adding function by pumping needed cooling air into the engine compartment and reducing front end lift. Hood sculpting defines the tsx's centerline and front fenders.  the side view departs a bit more from the family look, but keeps just enough of the cues to stay true to its design dna. This is especially evident in the side lenses of the headlight and taillight housings and the silhouette of the trailing lip of the trunk lid, all of which closely mirror the '08 tsx. In much sharper relief, though, are the sculpted character lines in the door panels. These add visual bulk and combine with edgy wheel arches remindful, again, of the mdx to make a stronger statement about the car's sporty aspirations. Door handles embedded in the upper crease give the view a cleaner look.  the rear aspect, sad to say, suggests of recent toyota camrys more than of the previous tsx in its overly busy styling. A deeply cut horizontal line slices straight across the rear vertical of the trunk lid, itself looking almost concave against the gently convex vertical of the '08. Taillights bridge the seam between trunk and fenders as before but bracket a license plate recess that's inverted from the '08 tsx, visually pushing the trailing lip higher and seeming to add sheet metal across the lower reaches of the trunk lid. The rear bumper cups the trunk opening with unflattering sedan like bulk, which makes the hot rod-spec dual exhaust tips look a little lame. interiorliking the new acura tsx interior is easy. It's comfortable without being plush, sporty without being sparse. Communication between driver and car is, for the most part, open and easy and unabridged.  the front seats are supportive, with enough side bolstering for reasonably rambunctious motoring on twisty roads. The front seat passenger still gets shortchanged with no height adjustment, which leaves even taller people feeling as if they're sitting in a hole. The three inches tacked onto the tsx's width went mostly to more padding for side impact protection, but front-seat hip room is up by a solid inch.  the rear seat is more like a bench than twin buckets, and space for the lower extremities is snug, measuring by the tape a mere one-tenth of an inch roomier than the '08. This despite the addition of more than two inches to the '09's overall length and almost an inch and a half to its wheelbase. Rear head restraints adjust for height, which is a plus for its occupants, although that even when at their lowest position they obstruct the visibility out the back window from the inside rear view mirror is a minus. The steering wheel sports push buttons and toggles controlling more than a dozen functions, not counting the horn, making it look like it would be just as comfortable in a jet fighter cockpit as in a car. This may be just fine for fighter pilot walter mittys who fantasize about mixing it up with the other side's top guns, but for the rest of us, who just want to drive the car, it's a bit much. The center stack, however, with either the base sound and navigation system or the optional technology package, is one of the more intuitively arranged that we've seen, with large, finger-friendly buttons and a reasonably easy-to-learn multi-function joystick-like knob for the multi-layered information center-cum-map screen. The high-end audio setup does force the relocation of the cd changer down into the bowels of the center stack, where it's not as easily accessed as with the base system, which parks it at the top of the stack, but that's a minor complaint, and one that won't even show up on the technophiles' radar.  storage is more than adequate. Every door has a molded-in space for a water bottle, the front doors room for the proverbial map, although given a navigation system is standard, think guidebook or cds. The glove box has a partitioned nook for the owner's manual and associated booklets, leaving the rest for smallis. 2010 acura tsx review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The availability of a v6 for the 2010 acura tsx represents a step almost as big as the styling changes introduced with the 2009 model year. Acura's superb navigation system is the equal of anything in the class, and it displays real-time traffic with congestion re-routing and local and national weather. The top-line audio system sets a standard for the class, too, with superbly crisp surround sound. Acura's v6 is smooth and linear, and up in the higher revs makes a pleasant growl. The v-6 model is heavier by 210 pounds and takes 3 mpg off epa city and highway ratings. And it needs an extra 15 inches of space for a u-turn. The tsx v-6 gets an epa-estimated 18/27 mpg.  the tsx uses front-wheel drive, whereas true sports sedans are rear-wheel drive. That said, the tsx is one of the better-handling front-wheel-drive sedans. And in its class it's hard to beat as an everyday driver that can still be fun on a winding road. The 2. 4-liter engine is rated at 201-hp,  styling is true to acura themes, the more aggressive, buff look to emphasize stance introduced on the 2009 model.  the 2010 acura tsx competes primarily with the audi a4, bmw 3 series, and lexus is. Other competitors include the cadillac cts, infiniti g37, mercedes-benz c-class, saab 9-3, volkswagen cc, volvo s60. Other acura-approved accessories include 18-inch, 10-spoke, chrome-look or ebony-finish alloy wheels; backup sensor; wheel locks; sport bumper kit; rear bumper applique; deck lid spoiler or wing spoiler; moonroof visor; car cover; and nose mask.  safety features include a full complement of airbags for front and side curtain airbags in back. Tire pressure monitors are standard. walkaroundthere is a consistency to acura's styling that ties its current models together and the tsx is no exception. Although it stretches the mold a bit, as it should, there's still no mistaking it for anything but one of honda's luxury line.  the front end blends elements from acura's other two sedans, the sporty tl and the more serious rl, and from the mdx sport utility. The headlight housings, for instance, with their squinty lenses curling around the front fenders to reach deep into the arcs of the front wheelwells, look like a direct lift from the tl. The elongated, pentagonal silver bar topping the similarly outlined grille pulls from both the mdx grille. The gaping lower air intake is a new design cue and shaves visual mass from what might otherwise be an overpowering front bumper while adding function by funneling needed cooling air into the engine compartment and reducing front end lift. Hood sculpting defines the tsx's centerline and front fenders.  the side view departs a bit more from the family look, but keeps just enough of the cues to stay true to its design dna. This is especially evident in the side lenses of the headlight and taillight housings and the silhouette of the trailing lip of the trunk lid, all of which closely mirror the previous tsx. A deeply cut horizontal line slices straight across the rear vertical of the trunk lid, itself looking almost concave against the gently convex vertical of earlier models. Taillights bridge the seam between trunk and fenders and the license plate recess mirrors the five-angle grille, visually pushing the trailing lip higher and seeming to add sheet metal across the lower reaches of the trunk lid. The rear bumper cups the trunk opening with unflattering sedan like bulk, which makes the hot rod-spec dual exhaust tips look a little lame.  six-cylinder models are identified only by standard 18-inch wheels, “v6” badge on the trunk, and slightly larger lower grille inlets. interiorliking the new acura tsx interior is easy. It's comfortable without being plush, sporty without being sparse. Communication between driver and car is, for the most part, open and easy and unabridged.  the front seats are supportive, with enough side bolstering for reasonably rambunctious motoring on twisty roads. The bottom cushion could be deeper, but this is a common shortcoming in many cars. The front seat passenger still gets shortchanged with no height adjustment, which leaves even taller people feeling as if they're sitting in a hole. Cabin measurements show the tsx with the least front headroom, more rear legroom than the is, and about par elsewhere.  the rear seat is more like a bench than twin buckets, and space for the lower extremities is snug; this is the typical pinch point in compact sedans. Rear head restraints adjust for height, which is a plus for its occupants, although even when at their lowest position they limit the visibility out the back window from the inside rear view mirror. The steering wheel sports push buttons and toggles controlling more than a dozen functions, not counting the horn, making it look like it would be just as comfortable in a jet fighter cockpit as in a car. The high-end audio setup does force the relocation of the cd changer down into the bowels of the center stack, where it's not as easily accessed as with the base system, which parks it at the top of the stack, but that's a minor complaint, and one that won't even show up on the technophiles' radar.  a.
